Should Spurs vs Liverpool be replayed after what happened?

In a perfect world, I would say YES, But in the real world...NO. The game was riddled with terrible calls throughout the game but you can't punish Spurs for mistakes the refs made nor could the teams actually allow another 90+ minute game to be played in an already congested season. It's for these reasons alone that a replay is impossible.

Simon Hooper did not shine his name in glory after what was an awful refereeing display that was not helped by an embarrassing display by the Var officials (Darren England and Dan Cook) The first big controversy came with the sending off of Curtis Jones, which was highly influenced by a still image on the screen as Simon Hooper came to review the call. Most likely swaying his decision against Curtis thanks to the Var officials. From then on out it was down hill for all the officials. Giving Diogo Jota a yellow for Destiny Udogie falling over his own feet, followed shortly after by a second yellow (a deserved yellow). During this time Destiny Udogie should of been sent off for a second yellow for gesturing to the ref to give Jota a yellow card.

Unfortunately this isn't were the bad news stops for the officials. As there was a potential foul leading up to Liverpool's equalizer by Cody Gakpo, as well as a potential penalty for hand ball against Liverpool which wasn't reviewed by the Var officials nor did we get any angles showing if it was or wasn't a hand ball. Proving that Simon Hooper is just a terrible referee as he made mistakes that hindered Spurs as well

AND then the cherry on top of this horrendous display of officiating came a goal that was not given because Darren England and Dan Cook are terrible refs and tried rushing through the check without any for of organization or communication.

This leads to one of the worst refereeing displays since, most likely, the Chelsea vs Barcelona Champions League game.

In conclusion any football fan who isn't just a bitter rival will feel sympathy for Liverpool in such a horrendous display of officiating but we can't start replaying matches now, as the officials aren't GOOD enough and too many matches will end up being replayed.

The league obviously can not take points away from Spurs and give them to Liverpool as Spurs have done nothing wrong but doing nothing for Liverpool will cause huge tension between PGMOL and the teams throughout the season. PGMOL really have shoved themselves between a rock and a hard place and the audio released has made them seem more incompetent as well. So lets wait and see what happens but this will be a season with lots of controversy and phone calls for Howard Webb
