Loved Solo Leveling? Here Are 10 More Anime You Need to Watch! While You Wait For Season 3

Now that Solo Leveling season 2 is done, and we have a GTA type of wait for the new season, considering, the new season is expected to come out in 2030. You and I will need to find some other shows to keep us busy until it comes out. Here are 10 shows you can watch if you enjoyed Solo Leveling, while you wait.

10. The Unwanted Undead Adventurer:

About the Show: Rentt Faina is a seemingly weak adventurer who has been stuck at the lowest rank for years. After venturing into a challenging dungeon, he is devoured and killed. However, instead of dying, he awakens as a skeleton. Despite his undead form, Rentt retains his memories and his desire to become one of the strongest adventurers. The story follows his journey as he evolves through various undead forms, gains new abilities by defeating monsters, and navigates the challenges and prejudices of the living world.

Why Solo Leveling Fans Might Enjoy it: This anime features a protagonist who undergoes a significant transformation and starts from a low power level. Rentt's journey involves a clear system of progression and new abilities similar to Solo Leveling. An issue with the show is its progression slows drastically in the later episodes, hopefully Season 2 does better.

Series: 1 Season 12 Episodes (Ongoing)

New Season: Season 2 in production

9. The Ossan Newbie Adventurer, Trained to Death by the Most Powerful Party, Became Invincible

Yes, this is probably the longest anime name I have ever seen, it's definitely the longest I've ever had to write down.

About the Show: Rick, a middle-aged man, finally decides to become an adventurer. Despite his age and being a complete novice, he possesses incredible potential honed through years of rigorous (and often comical) training. He quickly joins a top-tier party, where their intense training regimen pushes him to unbelievable levels of strength. The story follows Rick's journey as he surprises everyone with his rapidly growing power and becomes an unexpectedly formidable adventurer

Why Solo Leveling Fans Might Enjoy it: The Ossan Newbie Adventurer... you get the picture, this long-named anime features a protagonist who starts as a newbie but rapidly becomes incredibly powerful through dedicated training and hidden potential. An issue with this anime is it lacks any form of suspense, but it is worth the watch whilst you wait.

Series: 1 Season 12 Episodes (Ongoing)

New Season: Season 2 not announced

8. Wistoria: Wand & Sword

Good, a name I can actually remember, but this name seems to feel similar for some reason...Mashle: Magic & Muscles. Hmmmm...

About the Show: Will Serfort is a young boy who dreams of reaching the top of the magic academy Regalia, despite, as you guessed it, his inability to use magic himself, so he uses his muscles, wait wrong show, he uses his mysterious sword, which is expectationally over powered. The story follows Will as he navigates the challenges of the academy, faces prejudice for his lack of magical ability.

Why Solo Leveling Fans Might Enjoy it: While the protagonist doesn't have overt magical powers, his determination to become strong and overcome his limitations through hard work and a unique weapon. Wistoria does seem to move at 400 miles per hour and does lack the comedy setting that Mashle has, which Solo Leveling fans may find more appealing.

New Season: Season 2 Announced by no date yet

7. Re: Zero - Starting Life in Another World

To protect his newfound friends and unravel the mysteries of this world, Subaru must endure countless painful deaths and use his knowledge of future events to change fate. The series focuses on Subaru's resilience and determination.

To survive, she must use her wits, adapt to her new form, and constantly evolve by defeating and consuming other creatures. The story is humorous and perilous, as she grows from a tiny spider to a formidable force.

Why Solo Leveling Fans Might Enjoy it: Although a completely different feel than Solo Leveling, with the show being humorous in nature. Fans of Solo Leveling's clear progression and rapid gaining of  skills and abilities, along with challenges of surviving in a monster-filled environment.

When he tries out the highly anticipated Virtual Reality game, Shangri-La Frontier, his exceptional skills and unconventional approach allow him to quickly stand out. He uses his knowledge from playing countless flawed games to his advantage on epic quests, battling unique monsters and game's hidden secrets.

When Rachel leaves to climb the mysterious Tower, said to grant any wish to those who reach the top, Bam follows her. The tower is filled with challenging tests, powerful guardians, and intricate alliance and betrayals.

Why Solo Leveling Fans Might Enjoy it: Although Tower of God is completely different to Solo Leveling and the anime style is not as advanced or as high quality either. Tower of God has a really interesting structured progression through different levels and encounters.

Series: 2 Season 29 Episodes (Ongoing)

3. Hell's Paradise

If you haven't watched Hell's Paradise yet... I suggest you change that and watch it!

About the Show: Gabimaru the Hollow, a notorious ninja on death row, is offered a chance at freedom, if he can retrieve the Elixir of Immortality from a mysterious and dangerous island known as Shinsenkyo. He is sent to the island alongside other death row convicts. The island is filled with bizarre creatures and deadly landscapes. The story is fairly brutal (though less than Attack on Titan) and visually stunning.

Why Solo Leveling Fans Might Enjoy it: Hell's Paradise shares similar theme of high-stakes survival in a dangerous environment filled with powerful creatures. The show has stunning visuals, which we are blessed with in Solo Leveling, and viewers will enjoy in Hell's Paradise. Characters are interesting and unique as well.

Series: 1 Season 13 Episodes (Ongoing)

2. Overlord

Well here is a well established anime, with 4 seasons already and 3 movies and a 5 season on the way.

About the Show: When a popular MMORPG is scheduled to be shut down permanently, veteran player Momonga refuses to log out. As NPC's gain their own personalities and free will, Momonga decides to use his skills to become the new Overlord of the world. The series follows his strategic and often ruthless actions as he navigates the political landscape and deals with various threats.

Why Solo Leveling Fans Might Enjoy it: Overlord features an overwhelmingly powerful protagonist who continues to grow in strength and influence. The exploration of a fantasy world with a clear power hierarchy resonates with the Solo Leveling. This a well-established anime with lots of episodes and movies to keep you busy for the foreseeable future.

Series: 4 Season 52 Episodes and 3 Movies (Ongoing)

New Season: Season 5 Not announced yet

1. Kaiju No. 8

This is definitely one of my favourite animes of recent years.

About the Show: In a world constantly threatened by giant monsters called Kaiju, Japan has established specialized defense forces to combat them. Our protagonist, Kafka Hibino, once dreamed of joining these forces but now works for the cleaning up crew after the battles. However a sudden and unexpected event grants him the ability to transform into a kaiju himself, forcing him to navigate a world where he is both the hunter and the hunted.

Why Solo Leveling Fans Might Enjoy it: Kaiju No.8 features a protagonist who undergoes a significant and unexpected power-up, much like Jinwoo. The series is filled with thrilling battles against formidable monsters, and the main character has to learn to master his unique abilities. The art style is completely different to Solo Leveling but still high quality, although the fighting style is a bit power pointy, which could change in season 2 with strong fan backing and more money.

Series: 1 Season 12 Episodes (Ongoing)

New Season: Season 2 Announced but no date yet.

So there you have it – ten fantastic anime to keep you entertained while we all eagerly await the return of Sung Jinwoo. Hopefully, these series will scratch that Solo Leveling itch and maybe even introduce you to a new favorite!
